Wellbeing Walks
Slow Down. Reconnect. Walk With Curiosity.
These aren't walks about covering ground, they're about giving yourself permission to notice, breathe, and be present in the landscape. From short mindful walks that slow you down through a single sense, to gentle wellbeing hikes across the wider countryside, each walk is carefully curated around points of local interest, with topics loosely following the seasons. Based around Petersfield, with routes reaching out across Hampshire, West Sussex, and Surrey, a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature, with others, or simply with yourself.
What makes these walks special
Every walk is led by me, Chantelle - Founder of The Naturally Curious, a fully insured, qualified Lowland Leader (Mountain Training UK), CMA-registered Forest Bathing Guide, and trained in both Mental Health First Aid and Outdoor First Aid.
That background means every walk I lead is properly planned, walked in advance, and risk assessed, and every walk is held with genuine care for wellbeing, not just navigation.
It also means I can offer more than one kind of walk. Rather than a single fixed format, I'm developing a range so you can choose whatever feels most relevant and needed at that moment, from shorter, sensory-led walks through to longer, gentle hikes across Petersfield, Hampshire, West Sussex, and Surrey.
Why walking is so good for us
Walking is one of the simplest, most accessible forms of movement we have: no equipment, no experience, just a pair of comfortable shoes and a bit of time. And the evidence for what it does for us is compelling.
Physically, regular walking lowers the risk and severity of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and cognitive decline, while also improving sleep and supporting healthy ageing. Even a brisk 30–35 minute walk strengthens the heart, helps regulate blood pressure, and supports joint mobility.
Mentally, the benefits are just as significant. Walking encourages the release of endorphins, helping to lower stress and anxiety and lift mood, and time outdoors adds natural light exposure, which further supports mood and a sense of accomplishment. Slowing the pace and bringing attention to breath and surroundings, the essence of mindful walking, has been shown to reduce negative thinking and improve focus, memory, and overall mental clarity.
Put simply: walking supports body and mind together, and doing it outdoors, with intention, and occasionally alongside others, only deepens that effect.
Who they're for
These walks exist for the purpose of wellbeing, so where you start depends on what you feel you need. The shorter, sensory-led walks lean closer to a short forest bathing-influenced experience, slow, quiet, present, tuned into one sense at a time.
The longer walks add more movement, while keeping that same unhurried pace.
No experience is needed either way, just an open mind and comfortable, supportive shoes.

Types of Walks
-

Sensory Walks
(In and around the Petersfield area, East Hampshire)
Usually Held Fortnightly - Mid-Week - 1-1,5hrs - Free
A genuine chance to pause, slow down and allow your mind and body to recharge.
These walks are inspired by the ethos of forest bathing. They're slow, silent, mindful, and will usually focus on a single sense. These mindful walks are what enables our brains and nervous system to rest, recharge and rebalance.
If you're looking for a way to help support focus, concentration, energy, and all the other wellbeing benefits of being outside in general, these shorter lunch-time walks are perfect for you.
-

Curious Hikes
(East Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey)
Held approx. every 6 weeks · 2–3hrs · From £10pp
If you're looking for a longer wellbeing reset, with some gentle movement, fresh air, beautiful views, good company, and a reason to get properly outside with like-minded people, this is the walk for you.
It's not about speed or difficulty. It's about giving yourself the space to walk, breathe, and be curious again.
These walks incorporate a point of local interest that changes with the seasons. Some walks are simply about walking and talking together; others might bring in a chance to journal, forage, learn about local conservation, or hear a slice of local history.
How to join a walk
As our walks and hikes are purposely held in small groups to maximise the experience, booking in advance is essential, including our Petersfield local free-of-charge walks.
Booking details, meeting point, what to bring, and each walk's theme will be shared ahead of every date.
Dates and booking links will be shared very soon! In the meantime, if you'd like to get yourself added to our waiting list, sign up using the form below, and you'll be the first to hear when our walking dates go live.
Corporate Wellbeing
A guided walk is a simple, powerful way to get a team outdoors together, away from screens, into conversation, and genuinely present with each other. Whether it's a short Sensory Walk to reset during an away day or a longer Curious Hike as part of a wellbeing offsite, walking together tends to open people up in ways meeting rooms rarely do.
